How to start pumping

Little one is 9 days old, and I unfortunately have to leave him to return to work in about four and a half weeks. Any help with when to start pumping, and what kind of schedule to go by, would be much appreciated!

Start pumping now if you can. You don't want to take away from his meals, so usually you want to pump after he ate, or during his nap time (Like the very beginning of his nap), or when he is asleep at night. Your body will start compensating giving you more milk for storage, and making sure he has enough at meal time. Essentially the more he eats, the more you pump, the more milk you have. Start freezing your supply and make sure to date it! Good luck!
