My 9 year old daughter does the same. I was hoping to find some advice on this website and I see that you got no responses since April. Any luck since then? I can't seem to find a solution either. I've even tried to see if a panicure/pedicure birthday gift would help, since I told her the nails would have to be long enough to get polish put on them. She loves to play dress up with press on nails but that doesn't encourage her either to grow her own. Very frustrating. She's turning 10 in 10 days.

I stopped biting mine as soon as I got braces. I was a nail biter for 10 years, stopped for 2 years, then picked it up again. The thing you need to figure out is why. Keep her hands busy and her mind off of biting her nails.
