my son is 14 months old and I have just pump my milk for 13 months now. I am going to work in two weeks and a half and I am trying to stop pumping my milk for 11 days now and have some troubles. I have pumped 6 times a day (every 4 hours) before and pumped 19 ounces in total. Now I pump 4 times a day and pump 16 ounces a day. I am afraid that in that kind of slow process I will not end in two weeks.
First week I tried to pump less milk in each session and end then my milk ducts were quickly blocked. Then I start to pump less often and now I am so engorged after 6 hours that really hurts. I tried cabbage leafs, cold compressions, sage, parsley, mint but nothing works. 5 days ago I started to take 120 mg pseudephedrine a day and that helped a little.
Do you have any suggestion how to proceed that I would dry up more quickly and not get mastitis?
