if hes scared of the actual toilet have you tried a little potty seat? you can put it in the living room, lol,or his bedroom (somewhere not the bathroom and gradually move it closer to the bathroom until its in the bathroom and then try to transiton him to the toilet. I know it sounds gross but if he sees other people *you or you sig. other on the toilet he may feel less scared and want to be like mommy.

Thanks for the help ladies. Luc is 3 in April and number 2 is due in the next 2 weeks. I was hoping to have Luc trained by then. He knows when he needs to go for poos and asks for a nappy. He just has that fear of doing it on the toilet I think. My plan is to work slowly with him. I have tried the treats etc but still he will not try it. i am sure he will when he is ready. Just stubborn like his mother I guess. Lol. Thank you for your ideas and help.

Maybe you can give him something to ease it out, as gross as that sounds. 4 ounces of undiluted apple juice, or prune juice? Give him a reward for pooing in the potty. (This is bad but I give my kids a piece of candy, small, when they use the potty and I make a HUGE deal of how wonderful it is that they did it).

I had the same problem with my boy...I would let him run around naked, and he would run up to me and ask for a daipey, whenever I told him no, and that he just has to go on the potty, he actually threatened to poop on the floor...lol. I finally got him to poop on the potty using treats...for pees he still got the normal sticker, but if he pooped, he got a transformer toy or a hot wheels car...lol...Hope it's easier for round 2 with my baby girl

Either he just isnt ready or it could be a control issue. You can try stuff like a reward system. Give him a sticker, toy, treat everytime he goes on the potty and make sure that you make a huge deal about it, applause, smiles, singing the whole nine! and if it doesnt work i would just wait a month and try again. How old is he?
