My daughter Katie is 13. For 9 years she has been treated for bipolar disorder and ADHD. Last year she was diagnosed PDD/nos with anxiety. She gets very agitated and has tantrums(throwing and hitting things) when she can't express herself. We have been weening her of her bipolar meds this summer. She has gained 75 lbs in the last 2 years. She currently taking 10mg Abilify(aniexty), Intuniv (4mg), and 450 mg of lithium. We are dropping the Lithium next week and trying to find another aniexty type med. She has a phobia of going to school. Once she is there she is fine. Katie has all way been underweight. Part of it is she is going through pueberty and has grown 6 inches. I am worried and concerned of this rapid weight gain. Thanks for your helps Moms!

how long has she been on the abilify? when my son it was on it it brought on weight gain. Also puberty brings it on too.

My son has the same diagnoses as your son, what did this year was take him off everything except to help him sleep. his behavior did a 180. Right now with her in puberty keep in mind with her hormones changing the meds may change their effects.

Good Luck.
