I remember being 13/14. all I wanted was love and attention. in a large family it was hard
respect, it is kinda like being 2 again wanting independence and making personal choices.
be there and make sure they care.
I read an article that talked about having a
space for them to bring friends over so that you find out who they are and you have more control over who they are with and what they are doing.
show you care ask open ended questions. find out what is inportant to them and have a daughter/ son date
say please and thank you show that you are proud of them when they do something good. most kids that get yelled at or get no or bad attention think parents don't like them they act out for attention ie like a 2 year old
good luck!

Girl or boy, and what specifically is going on?

@ Joanna, really, free to good home? I am pretty sure we have to pay people to take teenagers :P Actually if I think about it, I don't think I'd take them if you paid me!!!

I vote sedatives for yourself. Or you could put him/her out on the side walk with a sign that says "Free to good home" =) Yea, we might need a little more information about what the problem is.

Convent? Military school? A prescription of sedatives for yourself? I am not really sure. Could you be more specific?
