Friday I was rushing like a mad woman to get the house cleaned because my cousins, that i havent seen in 3 years, were randomly coming in town (to my place) to say good bye. They were moving out east! And I had to go to my friends farwell because hse was also moving out east.
So I figured that I would be a super mom and clean the house while I got ready for both events and take care of Elizabeth. Well anyway I was rushing up the stairs with a load of laundry, and I could have sworn that I had kicked the door closed behind me. I mean I always do, why would this time be any diffrent?
Well little DD, who can walk along walls now, was in the hall. I passed her and thought nothing of it. she always does this, and comes to what ever room I am in. When I heard her get far away, I called out to her as I was folding clothes. Instead of a reply I heard the horrible, sickening, sound of a little body falling... and hitting each step on the way down.
I ran as fast as I could, though it felt like I was running through 3 feet of mud. When I got there, I was thinking why is this door open? Then to my horror I saw my poor little girl lying there on the floor. It didnt look real, and for some stupid reason, I just stared for a second (but it feels like forever when I think back) and was like 'wait, what is happening here?' (ugh so stupid!!) when my mind caught up with me I scooped her up as I was screaming, then she started screaming. I was releaved to know at least she is alive.
I took her to the bedroom and shakily tried to put my first-aid and c.p.r. level c training to work, and she seemed ok, but to be sure I took her to the hospital they ran like every test there, and we were seen by so many doctors becasue we were there through 3 shift changes! but in the end and aside from some bumps and bruises she was fine, just the slightest concunsion.
