I have a current issue with my husband. On Friday (today is Mon evening) we picked up a friend of my husband's, 2hrs out of town, 4hrs rtn from Canada to the US.
Halfway home we went to a restaurant and at the end the server gave one bill for which the friend was more than happy to have us pay.
We then filled up for gas, again no offer to pay.
He expected to be entertained while he was here as after all he was on Spring Break.
I work fulltime and my husband just left his fulltime job.
I am 27 Weeks pregnant. This friend didn't offer to do anyting helpful, so today (Monday late afternoon) I had a hormonal moment, broke down and told him to find his own way home and 2 days earlier than he was planning on leaving. My rationale was that there is a huge winter storm heading our way and if my husband were to drive him on Weds afternoon, which is just before our prenatal class, he could get stuck in poor highway conditions. At present my husband has taken his friend back to the USA, driving him the full way there and then returning. He thinks I am being unreasonable, but as i told his friend he was able to make it here as a grown man, perhaps he should have considered renting a vehicle which would have been cheaper than taking a train and plane as he did. My husband will drive 8 hrs total whereas his friend could have spent a total of 12 hrs rtn trip. now i have to clean up after him, i have been up most of the night because they decided to stay up until 0130 and i worked all day. has this happened to anyone else and am I really being unreasonable for telling this guy that he needs to get his own way home (although he didnt and my husband is still the doormat driving him home). We don't argue normally but lately my husband says that i am never happy, which at times is how i feel. I would say more depressed and angry than anything.
anyone going through anything similar or any advice?
