Hygiene I guess

I have a 15 oy daughter who does not care at all about her appearance. She sleeps in her clothes, doesn't have a care in the world what she looks like. I have to constantly nag, brush your teeth, comb your hair, put on deodorant. Why doesn't she care if her hair is ratted, she smells and looks like a street person. This girl is a straight A student, I'm completely flabergasted. Any help please

In my experience girls who suddenly gain large amounts of weight or stop caring about their appearance can be attempting to insulate themselves from the interest of others. I do agree that is may be a sign of depression or anxiety but this sort of behavior can also be a reaction to an assault. Is there any chance she may have been the victim of a crime? Especially since she is keeping her grades up, she may be feeling a sense of safety if she holds her world in perfectly to herself and protects herself from the outside by making herself less appealing. If he grades had tanked along with her appearance, I would not even bring it up because I don't want to scare you, but think carefully and ask her about it.

You've said nothing about how her state of mind is. At this age, lack of care about hygiene by a girl can be a sign that she may have a mental health issue, such as depression or anxiety, or that there is something else going on. Or she could be just basically lazy and not care. But you should investigate the reason why as it could be something more serious than you realise.
