I don't know why they call it morning sickness...it was more like all day sickness for me. I couldn't keep anything down. My poor husband tried to help me clean it up a couple of times and he ended up just adding to it, lol. Good Luck. I know it sucks.

I don't know why they call it morning sickness...it was more an all day sickness for me. I had it up until 3 weeks before I delivered. Everything I ate came up, and my poor husband tried to help me clean it up a couple of times, but ended up adding to it. lol! Good Luck. I know it sucks.

Talk to you Dr, sometimes RX meds can help. I was sick all 9 months with both of my kids. With my older son...I lost 30 lbs and never held down anything, threw up all day every day. With my youngest son...sick all day till 5 months then just in the morning after that. Hang in there but talk to your dr, she might be able to help!

I was like that the first 4 months but I wouldn't throw up food. It would be the bile. I stopped getting sick after I got a 24 hour stomach virus and I couldn't hold anything down so I went to the hospital and got put on an IV. Ever since I've been fine. I'm coming up on 6 months and I only throw up when I get mad.

I had it with both of my children. I know different things work for different women but this is what worked for me. I could not lay flat, I had to lay elevated, made a huge difference, I don't know why. Preggie pop drops or lemon drops helped. Partially slushy frozen lemon-lime gatorade did wonders. Also my doctor gave me prenatal vitamins that had ginger in them. I've also heard of putting something like a cracker in your mouth before your feet hit the floor in the morning. For the first few weeks, my doctor had to give me something to help with it, after about 3 months it got better, and by 5 months was completely gone. Hang in there, this too shall pass.

Suck on boiled sweets such as cherry drops.. worked for me.. Also talk to your midwife.. could be heartburn causing the sickness and if so the doctors can prescribe you something to save you buying gaviscon etc, Hope you feel better xxx

There are different things for everyone...try fresh ginger or the sliced ginger like you get at sushi places. Ginger naturally settles your stomach. Thats why the doctor always tells you to drink gingerale. Crackers, gingerale, fresh ginger, and yes mint...all can help. Good luck and as others have told you just hang in there keep drinking lots of water and in the end you will forget all about this experience. :)

With my 3rd I had all day sickness, it happened every time I smelled food cooking. The only thing that help was Ginger Chews, you can find them at the Health Food store. My all day sickness lasted until my 25th week of pregnancy. Good Luck…..

I had morning sickness really badly for 4 months non stop. I could barely keep anything down. I lost a lot of weight I went from being 120 to about 107. I was really worried about the baby not getting enough nutrients. I was advised to always take my pills and told to still try to eat even when i felt sick because the baby would get some of the nutrients (even if I couldn't keep it down). At about 5 months the morning sickness went away and I was elated. There is nothing you can do to really stop it you just have to cope.
hi all well i was this way until the end...i didnt take any meds and just had to push through all the days of vomiting or just feeling sick some days and it was well worth the 9mths for....id do it all over again for her...I also did this while keeping up my college studies which i completed and did very well to my great suprise lol .. and a few mths after i finish i gave birth.
I tried all suggestions like ginger the whole lot and no it didnt work my body took so sensitive to the pregnancy but my doctor told me morning sickness is a very good sign of a healthy pregnancy and i believe him my daughter was so healthy and so active throughout and i gained weight and all went well. Some days it was better than others but you will most likely stop feeling this way soon.:-)just keep taking in fluids even if you don't feel like it its important to not get dehydrated or you will end up in hospital..

I am right there with you... I am only 8 weeks and it's only been going on for 2 weeks and is so bad I've felt like death.
Only things that I've found to help were lots of water and gatorade (I liked the orange-strawberry AM flavor, or try the RAIN which is lighter)... Keeping a stash of Saltines by my bed - every time I get up to pee, I make myself eat 2 and drink some water, so my stomach is settled at night. And trying anything. I've found a few things I can stomach (canned pork and beans, gala apples, popsicles).... just try it! And anything with GINGER! crystalized ginger, baked chicken with fresh ginger, ginger ale (make sure it's made with REAL ginger though), ginger tea.
Also talk to your doctor... there are medications you can take. My doctor for my last pregnancy, and my new doctor, both prescribed Unisom... the medication in it helps nausea, and my nausea was so bad at night that it really helps my body rest and the nausea subside.

With both of my pregnancies I threw up everyday all day untill I was about 18wks. With my first I was hospitalised 3 times for dehydration when my doctor prescribed me phenorgen (don't know how to spell, sorry, pronounce it like fin-o-gen!!) in suppository form since I couldn't keep anything down, it works if you can get past the burn and the urge to poop right after you put it in. Hope this helps.

sorry i really dont know what to tell you...i had morning sickness all the way through both pregnancies and i was on zofran both times to stop the nausea cause other wise i was sick and throwing up all the time. i heard that ginger and peppermint help some women but they didnt help me. so you could try that... sorry i know it sucks! :( HTH

Talk to your doctor about zofran or phenergan. Both are safe during pregnancy (visit http://www.safefetus.com for more drug safety information) and STOP morning sickness. I had hyper-emesis up to the day I delivered. I was 25 pounds lighter the day I delivered than when I first fell pregnant. Talk to your OBGYN.

if you can't keep ANY food down not even crackers in the morning like me, they sell these wrist bands at any supercenter like walmart, they are for motion sickness (like when you're going on a ship) but that is the only thing that cured my morning sickness and i had it for 6 months- I lost 20 lbs in my first trimester =/ they look like sweat bands but they have a little ball that you place on the inside of your wrist where all your veins gather. hope it helps!

Girl, im 24 weeks and i STILL get sick. it dies down once you hit 2nd trimester. I tried everything from Zofran (something you Dr's would prescribe you), crackers in bed, sprite, preggy pops, NOTHINGGG worked. I threw up so much, i lost 10 lbs in my 1st trimester and had to be IV'ed at the hospital a few times from being so dehydrated- couldnt even hold down water.
Here, this has been my fav site, that tells you absolutely everything, something might work for you!

eat! that's the only thing that helped me. I had to eat something plain (toast, crackers, etc.) BEFORE I got out of bed in the morning. I usually tried to drink a little something too then. If I didn't eat before I got up (or moved around very much) I was sick for the rest of the day. After that I had to keep a little something on my stomache at all times - it seemed like the opposite of what I should do - but it's all that worked.
I also read that eating beans can help with morning sickness - I plan to try this next time! I hope you feel better soon!

You know you got it bad, when you can vomit pure bile and it doesn't even burn anymore ! Ohhh good times. I had 24/7 "morning" sickness for the vast majority of my pregnancy. I was even vomitting during labour. Once I stopped vomitting, I than had a baby who vomitted.... it never ends !

with my first son i had morning sickness but not terribly, it lasted for 4 months. with my second child i found out i was pregnant b/c i recognized that sick feeling one morning! with him i was sick until i was 30 weeks. it was horrible i lost 22 lbs in 10 weeks, i couldnt eat, laying down didn't help, drinking water didn't help. the only thing i could suggest is to ask your doctor for medicine. i never did b/c i dont like to take medication but a friend of mine had her doctor prescribe her something for it and she said it helped a lot. for me i just delt with it, it will go away eventually but mine didn't until i was half way through my third trimester! Good luck!!!

If you're honestly unable to maintain fluid (pinch your hand, does it take longer than 3 seconds for the skin to flatten? is your mouth dry by feel with your fingers? if you press on your fingernail firmly, does it take longer than 5 seconds to become pink again?) go to the ER.
