It's still early, especially if this is your first. You might even be feeling the baby and not realize it. I remember thinking I had gas ALL DAY around 16 weeks with my son (first child). It wasn't until I mentioned it to my SIL that she said "Are you sure it's gas? Because if you're not passing gas but still feeling it, that might be the baby moving." That was my "aha" moment. In any case, if the doctor can still detect a heartbeat, you and your baby are find. :)

As long as you are still hearing a heartbeat when you go in for your checkups you should be fine.
I didn't feel either of my girls until I was between 20-24 weeks, just the way they were positioned.
You may also be feeling the baby and not realizing it - sometimes it feels almost like little gas bubbles or butterflies in the stomach - at least until you're at the end, and then it feels like what it is - a foot or hand going into your ribs from the inside :)

If this is your first baby, you probably won't notice it yet (although everyone is different). It's still pretty early. It isn't uncommon to not feel anything for another 4 or 5 weeks or more. Or at least, you may not recognise it as the baby until then. If it is your second or subsequent baby, you usually recognise it a little earlier.
