I am 17 years old having a baby in May...

I am only 17 years old, my birthday is May 8th, so if my baby is born on its May 12th due date i will be 18. I am both excited and nervous, i have a loving supportive family and feel like i am better prepared than any other teen mom i have ever heard of. But the father of my baby is not who i want to spend the rest of my life with. I love him but we fight constantly and i cannot picture being with him for long. Now with a baby on the way and not wanting to have it grow up single-parented as i was most of my life, i feel like i must stay with the father. Please help, thank you.

If you and the father fight and you already know now, that he is not the guy you want to spend the rest of your life with, it is better to split up now than when the baby has arrived.

You might not want to raise a kid alone, but think about what will happen if your baby grows up in a dysfunctional family, with constant fighting and parents that don't really love each other and feel trapped because hey had a baby together.
You risk your kid grows up feeling like it is his/her fault that mommy and daddy aren't happy.

And being a single mom isn't the worst thing that can happen :)

Remember, with a little new one, you might be a single mom, but you will still be a family.
