Well definitely don't do anything that may put you in harms way :)
But I definitely did find that having lots of snacks instead of full meals helped. Also look for more filling foods that will stay with you longer. Things like whole grain breads (not whole wheat, whole GRAIN), hearty soups (low sodium), avocado (in moderation, but lots of healthy fats and oils there), full fat yogurts (it's a good fat in milk, so whole fat milks and yogurts are actually better for you), apples, beans, nuts (not just peanuts, get creative with tree nuts. Cashews are my favorite, but they're very high in fats. Others have lots of protein and good fats and oils in them :) excellent for a munchy food)
Try to stay away from foods that are over processed. Cookies, chips, crackers, white bread. Cereals are another thing to stay away from unless they're the actual healthy cereals (read the labels).
It's really all a matter of knowing what you're eating :)

Watch your portion sizes along with what you're eating.
I found that when I was pregnant with my first, I had a need to snack all the time. I wasn't necessarily hungry, I just needed to snack and felt nauseous when I didn't have something in my stomach.
I found the best way to not gain a bunch of *bad* weight was to watch my portion sizes fairly carefully. Instead of having 3 full meals, I would just have small snacks all day. No full meals. Just constant snacking. That way, I was getting about the same amount of food I would normally be getting, just more spread out.
Another things I found was to watch what I was eating. With my first pregnancy, I craved juicy pear jelly beans and meatball sub sandwiches with sweet onion sauce XD Instead of sitting down and eating a full bag of jelly beans or a full sandwich, I'd limit myself to say, half a dozen jelly beans, or I'd cut the sandwich into pieces, a couple of bites each, and eat one piece whenever I wanted.
I know I'm bad for craving carbs. Breads and pastas. If you're craving *bad things*, cut your portion sizes down even more. Maybe just a bite or two, just enough to satisfy the craving. Otherwise, if you're just snacking, choose healthier options. Grapes were awesome for me. Make up a fruit dish or a fruit salad, or a veggie plate.
Being that you're only 24 weeks, exercise is still going to be relatively easy for you. Stick to gentle exercising, but get your body moving :) Gentle yoga or walking are great options. Just keep moving. I know I got soooo lazy during my pregnancy :P but it's important to force yourself to do something :) Take a stroll around the park, throw on a yoga DVD or something, and only do as much as you feel comfortable with. It'll help keep the bad weight off, and walking can actually help strengthen the muscles that will help you give birth, making it easier :)
