I am 5 1/2 months pregnant and having trouble getting my partner to make a commitment?

I don't know where I stand with my partner, we have lived apart this whole time. He defiantly tells me he wants to be part of his child's life, however there is no talk of our future (living arrangements). I am very worried with anxiety as I am now 5 1/2 months pregnant and cannot financially do this on my own without a support system. My family does not live in the same province and therefore feel very alone now.

One more thing to add, if he is an absentee father and you do stay where you are, it can make it a lot more difficult to move after the baby is born. The father has rights, and can stop you from moving to a place that you have family. But they cannot do anything before the baby is born.

Well, if I was in your situation, I would be picking up and moving to wherever my family was so I knew I had a strong support system. I am sorry to tell you this, but chances are if he cannot make a commitment now, he will not later. Babies are a lot of work, and if he is not willing to even discuss it, that is your answer. I am so sorry you are lonely. But make the right choice for you and your baby to be. Not what is right for the man that cannot even talk about the future.
