Up to 10 days is fine if the baby is 100% breastfed. The reason is that breastmilk only has good stuff in it so there is no waste for the body to expel, except the occasional leftovers that it didn't use.

as long as you arnt ' giving the baby any formula or food other than breast milk it is normal. like was said above... soon there should be an explosion... it will be nasty but normal. most breast fed babies will do this a few times.

Yes, absolutely. When my son was exclusively bf he would regularly go ten days without going, as Renae said, breastmilk is 99% absorbed into the body and very little of it is left over.

I used to freak out and call my pediatrician weekly because my daughter hadn't pooped that week! It's completely normal as long as your EBFing and your child doesn't seem to be in pain. Some doctors consider it a sign that your child has a really good digestive system that sucks up everything leaving no waste! (But, it doesn't hurt to call your EBF friendly pediatrician to be sure!)

quite normal, as long as you are PURELY breastfeeding. i breastfed my 4 children, who are all adults now.

That is not normal you may need to give him stool softener or castor oil and orange juice to clean his colon not much like an adult's portion maybe a teaspoon full.

Unfortunately...yes...as terrifying as that sounds...yes....As long as he/she is making a wet diaper 8-10x daily, she/he is fine. But if you are worried, don't hesitate to call your pediatrician....especially if this is your first baby. That is why they make the big bucks!

yes it is.. although i know the feeling of being concerned about it bc they go from rocket power poop to like you said a week might go by.lol and ur like.. uh ok then.. my boys both did that.. just watch for discomfort bc of it.. i doubt shes constipated or anything just watch her behavior
