Both my boys have ADD ADHD one has ODD plus is being tested for ARND and the other has FADS . They are on biphentin , respidone and clonodine. I hate having to up and up their drugs. The side effects are also scary. Any suggestions would be great.

In my school the ADD and ADHD students seem to do better on a diet that is free from artificial coloring and flavoring. Some follow gluten free or casein free diets as well. I wish I had more to share. have you considered taking them to a naturalist? A doctor who practices both traditional western medicine but include homeopathic therapy as well? Maybe that sort of doctor could work with your present doctor to help you boys?

Yes they do see a neuro psychiatrist it is about 15 minutes and all they want to do is push drugs on them. And yes they have services at school and privately.
What I relay need is info about natural remedies that I can share with my Dr. to see about getting them off some of these drugs.
Has any one had any luck with natural remedies is what I relay want to hear about.

Do the get services at school? If not, they probably qualify for behavioral therapy which can help them identify triggers and limit the need to bump up doses of meds. These are some heavy duty medications and to try to switch to some form of natural therapy that is not FDA regulated may just not be possible. Do you feel like their doctor is at the cutting edge of treatment modalities? How old are your boys and have they been seen by a neuro psychiatrist?

THis is something you need to discuss with their doctor(s) as taking them off the meds they are on suddenly can cause even worse issues for them.

Robin thanks for the boost in my ego. If you're mad, be mad like a grown up.
