It is difficult for a lot of people to be able to put those feelings aside. Just try to remember that your son is not the person you're angry with, and that it's unfair to him for you to direct your frustrations toward him. Take some deep breaths. If you need a minute to clear your head, try to take your time and then interact with your son after you've calmed down.
There's not any detail about the situation and why you're upset with your MIL. What does your husband say about it? Could he help smooth things over with your MIL?
