Potty training takes time. It depends on what you have tried, whether or not you stuck to it no matter what, and if everyone is on the same page. My daughter was fairly easy to train, I started out routine training her (every 30 minutes and before/after everything) when she was 12 months old. By the time she was 15 months she had it down but relied on me to take her. I let her experience accidents in underwear and bare bum. If you just started, expect lots of accidents. Try rewards, sticker charts, toys, books...etc. Stop buying diapers, once you get rid of them don't bring them back for anything (use pull ups or underwear at night too) I never used pull ups, we used cloth training pants and regular underwear. Even when she was sick, we stuck to it. She already had regression (though I'm sure she will again at some point) when she was 9 months old, she didn't use the potty nearly as much as she used to but she was learning to walk. Just stick with it and make sure everyone who will be watching your son is on the same page. My husband's grandparents thought I was a nut trying to potty train Ruby so early, but I don't see it that way. In fact, they never believed me she was trained until she got top be 18 months and I hadn't bought diapers in 4 months. Good luck to you!
