I have a seven year old daughter, I have tried to get her dry at night but it is not working, she is still in pj pants, i did get her dry at night for a while but it back fired, I used to always get her up in the night and put her on the toilet before I went to bed,and then again sometimes in the early hours. But she started to wet herself at school and be constatntly tired it was like her body shut down to normal day routines. Because she was wetting in the day it got to the stage that i could not go out with her without constantly worrying. I want to get her dry but she is such a heavy sleeper and I am worried if i try and do what i done before will it back fire again. If not do I just leave her and hope she does it on her own soon? I am open to any and all suggestions...... Thanks in advance to all who give advice

We used a bed alarm system with our 7 yr old, who just couldn't get dry at night, it worked in 1 month, fantasic!! We got it through our child health nurse in Australia. One tip i got was getting your child to drink alot of water during the day to stretch her bladder, the bigger it streches to more wee it can hold at night = dry nights!!! lifting them onto the toilet at night also doesn't teach their own brain to be the boss of their own bladder, there is a book, how to be the boss of your baldder, well worth the read and it has section to read with your child to help them understand the problem too. we were so pleased with this programme and would highly recommend it!! good luck!!!

It could indeed be a bladder infection. There are also medications that can help. Otherwise, my son wore pull-ups at night well into his middle school years. It caused a problem with sleep overs but it took a lot of stress off both me and him.
