You don't need one to prepare your child for school. This is what they go to school for.....you certainly don't need a program. Just spend time reading to him, talking to him and interacting with him and he will be fine at school.

You don't need a program. Just children's books, paper, pencils, and one-on-one time with you. Read to him, play games with certain letters of the alphabet, draw, etc... There is no need for an actual 'program' to teach your child and prepare him for school.

Is your son going into kindergarten or is he older? I would say buy one of those 'summer readiness' books for pre-K to Kindergarten (or Grade 1 - Grade 2) which is basically a summer preparation type book that tries to bridge the level they're at to where they want to go. It usually has simple pages done day-by-day so that it doesn't become overwhelming.
Otherwise the best thing you can do is just read to your child every day (I put it into my kids bedtime routine which makes it happen more often on those busy days).
There are usually library programs that assist with some of these things.
Hope you find what you need!
