no, that wouldn't be right for ANYONE! wait until the baby is born and get DNA tests on everyone you slept with during that time that you conceived, then put THE FATHER'S name on the birth certificate.

it is not illegal. since you are not married, the father has to sign an affadavit to be put on the birth certificate, so if he wants to be put on it then he has that right. since you said you were raped, i understand you not wanting the bio dad on the birth certificate or in the baby's life at all, if you even know who the guy is. but before he signs it, it would be a good idea to get dna done. if he goes on that birth certificate, he will be financially responsible for the baby, even if you guys dont work out.

I'm pretty sure it is illegal to put the name of a guy who isn't the baby's father on the birth certificate. You should be able to request paternity tests before filling out the birth certificate. Check with a lawyer. Most will answer a question like this over the phone for free.

You still don't know if this baby is a product from the rape, or if it is your fiance. Paternity tests will clear that up.

Yes, but you should not put someone on the birth certificate that is not the paternal parent. YOu can leave it blank, and have your fiance adopt your child once you are married. Don't falsify documents or it will bite you in the ass later.

I am so sorry you went through such a trauma. How awful. Kinda hard for me to digest having sex with someone so soon after being raped though.

I would get a paternity test done. I am sure your fiance wants to know if it is his. That way you are not lying on the birth certificate. It is a legal issue if you decide knowingly to put the wrong person down.

regardless of if you are married or not, the blood father of the baby is supposed to go on the birth certificate... later down the road, if he needs his father's blood or organs for anything, they go by who is on the birth certificate. then you are stuck explaining that he may or may not be the father, and then you would need DNA test, and then get him the organ/blood MAYBE. to be safe get the test.
