Cysts can give positive pregnancy tests.
To identify the type of cyst, your doctor may perform the following procedures:
Pregnancy test. A positive pregnancy test may suggest that your cyst is a corpus luteum cyst, which can develop when the ruptured follicle that released your egg reseals and fills with fluid.
So she is not pregnant but she will need medical attention for this.

Take your wife back to the doctor if you disagree with their diagnoses.
I would say that because the ultrasound showed a cyst, then she's not pregnant!!!
Don't ask us, we are a bunch of Mum's on a computer, NOT DOCTOR's!!!!!

Have you done a (Blood) pregnancy test? Urine tests can be tricky.
There are some cases of women that can only determine pregnancy via blood ,and I'm one of them every time I tested through my urine it would say the opposite of what the blood would say.
I pray u get the Answers you seek.

For crying out loud. I'm not your doctor.
In general, many things can appear as a pregnancy, but not actually BE a pregnancy. If an ultrasound was done, and a CYST was found, then a CYST is causing the symptoms. If you truly feel you are pregnant, despite the ultrasound results, you need to arrange for another trip to the physician, and request further testing.
An HPT is NOT an accurate measure of pregnancy.
