I think that you'll be just fine.I know it's so hard to wait for your precious gift from the Lord... I was also impatient... they grow so fast, I remember when my oldest son was just born now he is in high school... then in between I had 2 girls and now another son. He just turned 1 year... I always end up having another baby when I potty train one..I love kids. They grow so fast..patience is all you need..believe it or not I loved being pregnant..although, I had hypertension, all c sections and very difficult pregnancies,I would do it all l over again.
Enjoy your bundle because before you know it, they're grown. :-)

Sarah, I was a bit naive, I guess. I assumed that what was put in my file after my first (extremely small pelvis, difficulty getting full dilation, and a recommendation to monitor a future baby's weight to be able to either schedule a c section or induce) would be read by the OB for my second...and thinking that Doctors always know best, didn't say anything about it...Now I know (18 years later) that I should have gone with my instinct and asked to be induced at 36 or 37 weeks. Oh well...LOL...they both are now over 6'4" and 250 lbs...

As a former labor and delivery nurse, it is not better to carry longer. Healthy babies are born at 37 weeks everyday. After 42 weeks, there can be decreased amniotic fluid, decreased placental function and increased risk of abruption. Ideally between 37 and 42 weeks, some a little earlier some a little later. Often times the day you have intercourse is not the day you conceive. Sperm can live up to five days (very rare) so even you had sex one time and conceived a baby, you could be off by almost a week. Mother Nature is not an accountant! As long as your baby is moving and you have careful monitoring, I am certain you will both be fine!
Ugh Shawnn! 44 weeks? Do they make a sympathy card for that? I refused to leave my doctors office at 42 weeks until he agreed to induce the next day.

I delivered my daughter at 42 weeks..very healthy, very alert. It's actually Better the longer baby stays in the womb. All other of my 4 kids were born early 36 weeks and had bad jaundice. Don't worry,.. and the cramps and pressure totally normal..your baby just dropped is all.. congrats!

You could still go another 2 weeks yet. That's why we are saying 2 days is nothing.

It's only a 2 day difference, baby won't arrive on an exact date. You should know that if it's not your 1st child. Baby will arrive when it's ready.

Just relax and don't worry about your due date. As long as they are monitoring you weekly and baby (and yourself) is doing well... baby will come when baby is ready to come.

This is not an exact science, my dear. Normal gestation is 40 weeks. Baby can be safely delivered anywhere from 37 to 44 weeks, depending on the pregnancy.
So, what you're saying is that the midwife said your due date is today, but the scan shows a possible due date of two days from now...which is completely normal. If you're that close, then, yes, baby's head should be down, and it is normal to have some difficulty moving, etc.
Be patient.
