thanks for your advice. sometmes when he is alone on the floor he plays very well, he uses his legs and shoulders to lift up himself and changes position. but the muscles at the hands are not strong enough to do the lift with the hands.

Does he have hypotonia or low muscle tone? Are you in the US?
If so what state are you in?In the US there are people that do a free eval and free therapy for children that are delayed.
If your son is 14moths and not sitting unsupported then I am almost positive it is a physical or neurological problem and there is NOTHING you did or did not do to cause it.

My best friend had the same problem with her daughter. She found that she was holding her too much through out the day. You have to let your baby experience the floor and learn balance and the feel of not having someone there to hold them. Not saying don't hold your baby because every mom loves that close-ness but just for like 15 minutes a day at least let her be alone on the floor and see if you see any improvement. Also maybe try getting a bumbo chair! It will teach the child how to sit up correctly.
