I can't get any house work done

Help! My 7 month old daughter is making it impossible for me to clean. How can I keep her occupied yet safe while I'm cleaning the house? I enjoy every moment I spend with my daughter but I can't stand to let my home fall apart. She has learned to crawl and is into everything and if I put her in a crib or play pen or a walker she's only quiet for like 5 minutes then she crying and asking "mama!" What can I do?

At 7 months, she should still be having several naps a day. You really have to squeeze a lot of work into a small amount of time. She also does need to learn to be a little more at ease by herself. This does not mean she should be unsupervised, but you can be straightening or dusting within eyesight while she's crawling around or playing on the floor. Make sure you get safety latches for cabinets, drawers, etc., and remove anything that she may pull down on top of her. You can also get a sling carrier, and tote her around while you work. Talking to her about what you're doing and pointing things out to her can help her understanding and speech later on.

Try not to see your baby’s behavior as being deliberately challenging. Babies are incapable of intentionally making their parent’s lives hard. Your baby is still learning and there will be times when they don’t even know what they want themselves. All you can do is do your best.
