All my kids have their own email address, and they have each other email address to write too, as well as my own. I don't see the harm in it. !. I have all their password. 2. they only write each other and me. 3. I won't let them on it, until after I make sure nothing negative is on it.

My kids are 13, 10, 8. and we all don't see any harm in writing to each other via email. So, what the big deal?

I just delete their email account. They were upset. Suppose it don't matter if they had it or not. It was fun while it lasted for them.

It depends on what the email addresses are going to be used for. If they're going to be used for family and close friends then it's OK. Certainly it's a useful 'tool' in the bigger picture. The questions to ask are a) do they need an email address b) what's it for c) is a 'need' or a 'want'. then go from there.

As for emailing each other when they're at home - that's a different thing. At home you shouldn't need an email account for the household to communicate with each other.

I don't see the point in emailing people you live with and think that's a bit ridiculous... but as long as you have the passwords and are keeping a close, monitoring eye on everything... I don't see why it would be a 'big' deal either.
