i had Hg for my first pregnancy, it was horrible i wuld try to eat bcause i wanted to have a healthy baby but within a minute of eating i would throw everything up i just gave up eating or drinking ANYTHING i was dehydrated had severe headaches. i just wanted it to be over i was in hospital for 3 days getting IV fluids, it helped alot but i was back in the hospital within three days again. it went away when i was like 20 weeks if i remember correctly, but now im pregnant again 4 weeks and im hoping that this does not happen again!

We're trying for baby number 2 and I was curious about other mums experiences with Hyperemesis Gravidarum too. I was bedridden with my first pregnancy, in and out of hospital, so dehydrated it took 3 litres to get me to pee 1 ml, etc etc. I really want another baby but I'm def nervous about getting so sick again since I've now got a toddler!

I had hyperemesis gravidum with all 3 of my pregnancies. My first (a girl) was the worst. I was in the hospital every other day, had a picc line inserted at 9 weeks, kidneys shut down at 22 weeks after getting picc line removed. With my second (a boy) it was better. I could just take medicine to control it. Only had a bad day every other day. With my third (a girl) it was worse than the boy but better than the first. I was sick every day but was able to not have to have a picc line. I spent 4 days in the hospital due to dehydration.

I know it doesn't always happen. I know people who didn't have it at all and then on their 4th pregnancy they have it.

ok, so I had to look this up to figure out what it was.. needless to say I didn't have it! But what I can tell you is I threw up for almost 1/2 of my first pregnancy. But with my 2nd, I don't think I threw up at all. Each pregnancy is so different- I was amazed at the difference. Good luck!

I had hypermesis gravidarum (extremely bad morning sickness) I was in at the doctors every 4-5 days getting IV fluids as my kidneys were starting to fail as I couldn't keep anything down. I would love to hear from other Mums that have had this condition.
