I had my tubes tied 3 yrs ago in 2009 and actually found out I was pregnant in 2010. I aborted the baby and got on the mirena. I'm having problems with it and want off but afraid of getting pregnant. Should I worry?

I have heard nothing but bad things about Mirena. I have it in my closet. I was going to have it inserted 2 years ago, until I heard several women I know, say how many complications they had with it. I would look for a different form of birth control.

Cut and carterized is very permanent. About 1/2 inch is removed and the ends are burned. I had mine done in 2000, and have yet 12 years later, gotten pregnant.

I would switch to a different type of birth control. Obviously getting your tubes tied didn't take, so I would think that you have the same risk (maybe slightly lower) of getting pregnant as any average woman.

I would suggest switching to a different kind of birth control. You could also look into getting your tubes tied again. If you choose to get your tubes tied again, I would suggest looking into the different procedures and which one is the most likely to succeed and be permanent.
