I'm thinking more of the consequences at school, not so much at home. My daughter gets stickers from her teacher, so she likes finishing her homework and reading to get the stickers. All I have to do is encourage her and remind her she can only get stickers if she does the work properly, and that is usually enough.

Or perhaps are there rewards for completing the homework (eg. stickers, small awards, etc)? I find these work for my daughter, she loves getting stickers on her reading diary and homework book. I guess it depends how your school deals with it. But there should be something in place.

Sometimes we havve a problem with our 5 year old. Usually if he starts getting worked up about doing the homework we give him 30 minutes to relax and go do something else but then he has to do it. In our case I think he just likes to have a choice/say in when he does it. VHS also tells me that the worksheets that get sent home don't have to be done, I've thought about emailing his teacher and having her speak to him but it hasn't gotten that bad yet usually after some discussion I get him to understand it's not optional.

We have tried stickers and they did work for a bit. And we did a reward but she is spoiled at her dads so she just didn't care. Maybe we will have to try the stickers again thank you so much.

How is the school dealing with it when she isn't completing her homework. Are there consequences for her?

So don't help her with her homework. Tell her she can do it herself or hand it in incomplete and accept the consequences.
