I have a daughter who just turned 18 on August 19th? She pays for her own cell phone, but she is constantly on it? She is currently working at Subway, and doesn't want to go to college, but possibly want's to go to vocational college. She has no motivation or interest, and doesn't 'want to see a counselor. She doesn't do the work to show that she has interest in

Pursuing the schools or anything else to that matter. What do I do? If I am able to get the phone away from her, I am going to throw it against the wall.

I hear ya i didnt put up with the sleeping all day either. My daughter left me in the end with no options i felt like i had no choice but to kick her out! Hopefully you and your daughter can come up with a plan that everyone is comfortable with.

Vicki. She doesn't ever believe we would throw her out, and guess what she probably is right. She even got a Jury Summons and didn't feel the need to do anything with it, even when I explained to her she could go to jail or have to pay a fine. She has a used car that we gave her and we only allow her to take it to work, I told her if she doesn't go to school, she get's no car. I have threatened her that if she keeps it up, that she will not even have a car to take to work. She could walk or ride her bike. Her job is walking distance it would only take her 15 minutes, if that. Her answer to me was, then I just won't go to work. I can't have her sleeping all day, I will absolutely flip.

I understand what your going through my daughter is the same way. She pays for her cell phone also and is constantly on it and i swear her drama keeps her up all night to the point she cant get up for schooll! UGH

All you can do is have boundaries for yourself and rules for your home and she must follow the rules or tell her to pack her stuff and make her own rules under her own roof! Doing something fulltime like school or full time work is a must and was in our house my daughter had a hard time with this and couldnt see what the problem was that she sleep until 3pm WOW! Anyway we gave her 30 days to either enroll full time into school or full time work she did neither so she was asked to leave.
