I have two children, a boy (Daniel, who is 7) and a girl (Whitney, who is 5). I have no control over them. They will not help me clean the house and they pretty much just do whatever they want and will not listen to me at all! Help!

I agree with the other ladies. They are far too young to be ruling the house.
Get yourself into some parenting classes ASAP and get control of them now. If you don't you are going to have a really tough time when they hit the teens!!!!

I'm sorry, they are 7 and 5. How on earth have you lost control? Your house your rules! AND YOU are the parent. BE the parent. Find their "currency" and use it, but if you can't control you 7 and 5 year old, you are in some very serious trouble in the future. I would suggest finding some parenting classes in your area. I also agree with Dove. Remove their privileges.

Tiffany, what sort of schedule do you follow? Kids who don't know what to expect and have too much "free time" get bored and will act out negatively for attention. Like Mimi said, plan actual activities and keep them busy and you may find they are more compliant.

Do they have any toys, electronics, TV time, anything fun at all? Every time they won't help clean up or go and do whatever they want w/out listening... start taking that stuff away one at a time. They will either start listening or will eventually end up w/ nothing to do all day except sit on their beds and read.
