I just got my mirena IUD out and started birth control pills but I have had intercourse with my husband without protection is it possible I could be pregnant? I have had to pee a lot here lately and my mother-in-law thinks I am pregnant.. what do yall think??

Haley- Even though you are on the pill it is not a guarantee that you will not get pregnant. Depending on the type of pill you are on whether it is a low dose pill there are no guarantees on contraception. They give you 99% coverage proving you as an individual don't get the days wrong as to when you take it. So if you want complete protection even on the pill try a spermicide that can be purchased over the counter at the chemist or get a prescription for it. Simple to use . You could even use it with a condom if you wanted to get off the pill ( because it's only a chemical that can for some women depending on how long they are on it prevent them from conceiving when they want to). Lots to think about.

It is possible if you haven't been on the pill 24 hours prior to intercourse. Because it take 24 hours before you are protected by birth control pills. You just have to wait and see.
