I know I should ask my doctor about this, and I already did and he said anything but good things about the IUD's but I would like to hear from your experiences. I had my third son on Aug-31 and I dont want more babies at least for a couple of years or probably forever. My doctor recommended the Mirena on my 6 week check up, he say it was better than the Paragard because Paragard makes you have heavy and crampy periods and Mirena makes you have lighter periods or no periods at all wich I didnt like because I dont want to be scare each month thinking I might be pregnant because I dont have any periods. I have read a lot of bad things about the hormones in the Mirena , weight gain, cysts, changes of mood, acne and a lot of other things. I have my appointment for this Thursday afternoon to get my Paragard inserted, I just wanted to know what have been your experiences with any of both IUD's , I will appreciated. By the way I'm currently breastfeeding my almost 2 month old baby and I'm 24 years old. Thanks.

The only thing that so far I'd like is the Evra Patch but I cant use it because I'm breastfeeding. I have my appointment for this Thursday afternoon to get my Paragard inserted, I just wanted to know what have been your experiences with any of both IUD's , I will appreciated. If its important , Im 24 years old .

I have the mirena, I love it! I don't get a period every month but that doesn't bother me I also breastfed my daughter while I had it for 2 years and it never effected my supply.
