I'm a 13 year old girl and didn't know who to ask for advice so here I am :$

I smell sometimes but when I ask my mom if I could buy deodorant she just insists that I need to drink more water and the smell will go away.

Even though sometimes I drink 15-16 cups of water, she still sticks with her reasoning because she says that deodorant has to many bad chemicals in it?

How can I convince her?

You drinking water is not going to make you smell any less. But drinking water is good for you.

Well this is a site for mothers. Not for teenage girls having trouble with their mothers. Obviously you have interenet access, so start looking up the most natural deodorants with the least additives. Tom's of maine is a good brand. So is burt's bees. Kiss my face is another. There are many out there. Then you can tell her about the more natural brands.

It is the bacteria that makes you smell from sweating. In the meantime if you notice you are stinky, clean your pits. Use some powder to try to stop from sweating. I understand why your mother would not want you to use harsh brands, but maybe she just doesn't know about the other more mild brands out there.
