I did a small party for my son. I invited all of my family who sees him a lot. I didn't see a point in throwing a huge bash when my son wouldn't even remember it.

I feel like the 1st birthday is more for your personal celebration. You achieved a whole year of loving this little creature and nurturing her while she grew. I chose to throw a huge birthday party to celebrate this wonderful first year. I didn't really care who did not show up bc the people that really mattered would be there. I had a blast planning her birthday and my little doll loved having all the people she loves centered around her.
