Local agencies. Thrift stores. Churches. Charitable organizations

Thrift stores are usually a good place to find gently used baby items and clothes for cheap. Churches can be helpful for some emergency assistance. Getting involved in a mom's group where you can trade items back and forth may be of use... and you can also make mom friends that way.

For the first couple of years of his life 99% of my son's clothes came from his cousin who is 11 months older than he is (up until my son grew bigger than his cousin... lol). When he outgrew the clothes I gave them back for his younger cousin (9.5 months younger than my son). It was a great way that 3 boys were clothed for the price of one. ;)

Ask at your local churches or charities. Babies are expensive and they don't get cheaper.
