I have a question I'd like to ask the group about my 6 year old daughter having potty accidents during the day.. is this where I post? I'm having trouble figuring out how to navigate my way around the group and find helpful responses. thanks so much.

Please, whatever advice you get on the other threads on this topic, do not spank her for this. It is not disobedience. No 6 yo desires to soak herself intentionally.

Has a medical condition been ruled out? Like urinary tract infection or bladder spasm? Does it happen at school and at home? Does it seem like she forgets to visit the restroom or waits too long?
I think Moons suggestions are super helpful, having a journal of intake and output may well show a pattern. Best of Luck!

If she is in school, you may want to ask that the teacher allow her to go to the bathroom once per hr. (you can eventually increase the time in between once you determine the reason). Also using a data sheet will allow you to record her liquid intake, the time, the amount and if she is dry at the time of recording (Additionally, jotting down the time that she went to the restroom will help you to determine how soon she goes after input which will in turn help you to reveal any patterns (i.e. is she having an accident on herself after a specific subject, after lunch, or before nap time, etc.). This would also be a great piece of information to provide to her doctor (if you should have to go that route). Hope this helps.
