I MISCARRIED AND WOULD LIKE ADVICE
Jodi - posted on 01/15/2014
Irene, miscarriages usually happen because there was something not right with the baby. It actually happens in about 20-25% of pregnancies. Unfortunately, at the age of 40, you have more bad eggs than you did when you were younger, so your chances of miscarriage do increase. I'm sorry you are going through this, I know exactly how hard it is because I lost a 13 week baby, and then, three months later, a 6 week one, so I understand your grief. It is okay to grieve - in fact you need to let yourself do that for your own mental health. There is nothing to say you can't try again if you wish, but just give it a couple of months.
(BTW, after my 2 miscarriages, I did go on to have a healthy baby girl - I was almost 36).
