My daughter will be 18 in March and last year almost to the day she ran away then moved in with her dad for the first time in 17 years, now after 1 year almost she wants to come back home... The father took me to court and I am paying child support I also have two younger kids at home not from the same dad.. My daughter is almost done with high school, but she admits to cutting school alot while at her dads... Its alot to take back on, but I feel I have to give her this chance.. Im scared and frustrated.. We talked about what I expect and she has agreed I just need some advice and now what about child support Ive been paying how do I go about stopping it?

Child support either stops at 18 if the child is no longer in school, or at the end of the child's compulsory schooling, if I remember right.

You shouldn't have to take the sppouse back to court for it, though. Take your daughter to the court. I may be wrong, but I think that once a child is over a certain age they can make the choice over who they live with, and 'almost 18' is definitely over that age limit.

I'd ask a lawyer or someone at the court for sure, though.

Doesn't the child support stop when she's 18 anyway? I know it does here in Australia.
