Hi to all the mother's on this site. I am am mother of four girls. I just had my last girl two weeks ago. My spouse and I agreed that is would be best for him to work the first six months . I am having problems already because I like to be active and I want to support the family financial too. What should I do before I go bored out of my mind and start having mood changes?

When I had my first born Kaden I was in a similiar situation and didn't work for the first year. There were times that I thought I would go through the roof from being bored especially since my husband worked 2 jobs and wasn't home very often. But then I decided to bundle up my baby and take him out to places that Katherine is talking about. Plus I got together with friends and would hang out together because they knew my situation. When Kaden got older and started staying awake more I focused all of my time in his develepment. And I would have to say those were some of the best times of my life because we would just play and play and I stayed so busy with him I no longer had time to be bored anymore. But i'm sure now since your baby is 2 weeks old there will be alot of sleep time. It seems like thats all Caleb did for his first 3-4 months was sleep. With my oldest being 8 now I got a work at home job and started to be a independant contracter. That really took the edge off from having that free time on my hands. Not only that but it made me feel like my husband wasn't the only one working and I could help with the bills and stuff. Sometimes just window shopping or going to the mall is a good way to get out. I was suprised at how much time I blew off with doing that and before i knew it I was like where has all the time went?

Lots of activities. Join some mom groups. Your local library may have story time, check out your rec center, they might have play groups etc....
