Every time I tell her she has to do something she doesn't want to the crying begins, and when I tell her to stop it gets louder and more defiant. I am not allowed to spank her which is ultimately what she needs. She is not my child, but I care for her. Any ideas? I am desperate! Can I make her do chores while in the middle of the tantrum so she is uncomfortable? This is what I am leaning toward because the corner doesn't work she just stands there and screams so loud! It drives me CRAZY! What chores would not be fun and would be age appropriate? Any and all suggestions welcomed, do not lecture me that spanking is wrong, it works and it's biblical, you will not change my mind about it and I will ignore you. Thank you.

I did,I set up a chart I bought puzzles and lots of stickers. To be honest it didn't work. It got to the point where she started demanding a sticker for all her behaviors and everything she did, it was quite ridiculous. I don't believe we should reward them for everything in life it sets them up for disappointment in life when they don't get rewarded for something they are expected to do. Thank you though, this is so frustrating, children need love and discipline and when you only give love with rewards, and never discipline with consequences what are we teaching our children?
