I need help with my 12 year old daughter

My 12 yr old daughter wants to live with her dad. He is currently in FL and we are in GA. He has not been around consistintly in 12 yrs. She is getting bad grades in school and very angry. She will rip her own stuff up her own stuff and yell at me. I think that having a step-dad and 2 younger sisters is not what she wants. We recently moved to GA from FL for my husbands job; but she was getting bad grades last year too. Now her dad wants to step up to the plate...what do I do?

this is a real tough situation no doubt. I also moved away with my husband and gave my 12 yr old son a choice of moving with me and his step dad or staying with his father and step mom. when he was 18 after graduating from high school he shared with me that he felt abandoned. I reminded him that we gave him a choice. The lesson for us here is that a 12 yr.old is not mature enough to make this decision for himself. Our relationship still needs to be repaired. His younger sister on the other hand was happy to live with me for a year and then stay with her dad every other yr. after that. She was ten at the time. she is much better adjusted. she is 22 now and we have a good relationship. This worked for us because she was home schooled wherever she stayed. AZ or NY This might work for you. Just be sure to keep the lines of communication open with your daughter and ex. Only offer a choice if your willing to give it. professional counseling is a must for the whole family to help your daughter deal with these issues.
Whatever you decide. I'll be praying for you and your family.
