I need some advice about my 2 1/2 year old little girl.....

My daughter recently had to go to the emergency room and had an IV in one arm and blood drawn out of the other arm. Since then (about 2 days ago) she refuses to let me take off her sweater or shirt. She will not let me near her arms. Obviously she is terrified about what happened and I understand that. I have tried talking to her but I am not getting anywhere. I don't know how to help her feel better about all of this and ease her fears. I also don't know how long I should let her keep her "security sweater" on. (I have been able to take if off once to give her a bath but it was a struggle and the bath was the quickest it could be and the sweater had to be put back on ASAP!) Advice please!!!

Maybe try playing doctor to help her understand what happened. AS far as the sweater goes just let her wear it. For bath time keep it somewhere she can see it so she knows it's still there if she needs it. When you need to wash it try offering her something different while its in the wash maybe play dress up. She will eventually feel better and won't need the sweater but for the time being it's not hurting anyone and it makes her feel better so why not let her wear it.
