My sons father is mentally and emotionally abusive. I have recently contacted CPS to file complaint on my ex because of things my son has told me that has been going on over there. I can't afford legal representation. I am worried about my sons safty if he has to go back over there. Can anyone relate to this?

Its not that I am looking for legal advice on on, just support and maybe some encouraging advice from others moms that have been through or going through what I am. Thats all. I live In Virginia. I can't afford a lawyer. Legal Aid won't help me because my husband works. I am working on trying to get help with getting a lawyer. And as a mother that wont stand for her son to be hurt or put in an unhealthy or dangerous situation, I fealt it was right of me to contact cps.

You need a lawyer. That advice IS helping you. I don't know where you live, the laws in your area, or what the issue is, so how can I or anyone else ACTUALLY help you?

Ok, I am not a rude, or childish person. She seemed like she didn't likke the fact that I posted it three times. In am new to this site. I didn'y know that I had posted it three times. That's why I fealt she was rude. I didn't feel comfortable giving any details because of her response. I joined this site to connect with mothers for positive support and nothing else. I do not throw tantrums. I am 30 years old with two kids that I have always taking care of. I have been on my own since I was 17. I am looking for support in any way I can get it. I thought by joining this site I could have a support systemand people to talk to when I need it. If you are not that person please do not even respond to my posts. If you would like to help me then please do.

Woah lady.... 'Little Miss' is right... you need a lawyer. It's your best chance at protecting your son. If you can't afford a lawyer... try Legal Aid.

And 'Little Miss' wasn't rude at all and she asked for more information which you chose to not give and instead have a tantrum because you perceived her as rude.

Good luck

By the way I cant afford legal representation. As a mother who wantd to protect her child I called CPS on my ex. I also contacted the local police about these things. It doesn't sound like you are anyone that I want to seek advice from. I thought this was a helpful site with mothers that can relate to you on things.

I amk new to this site. Im not familiar with what I am doing yet. You din't have to be rude to me about posting it three times. If this is what this site is about then I don't need it. You dont know me and what I have/been going through. CPS can investigate me all they want. I have nothing to hide.

Seriously? This is your third post on the same topic.

First of all, we need more information like WHY you called cps. Examples. But all and all non of us can truly help you, just give you advice. Only a lawyer can really help. That should have been your first call....not cps. Now your whole family will be under investigation.

WHY are you worried about your sons safety? If it is that serious, you are gonna need a lawyer either way. Same thing if CPS really does get involved....you will need a lawyer. Sorry, it doesn't look like their is any way out of that. If you need to legally change custody agreements, or you want to change it, one way or another it needs to be done through the courts. Good luck.
