I need to find a babysitter in my area but all the sites want you to pay, any suggestions?

Ask around but make sure you do your research. There is nothing more nerve racking then leaving your little ones with a stranger. I have heard that church groups are always a good network. Also if you know of a daycare near your home where you really like the people, sometimes they will babysit after hours.

Contact, contacts, contacts! For everything in life it pays to have contacts. Tell everyone you know you are looking for a sitter. Chat with the moms in the local parks (we actually hired a babysitter that a friend of mine met in a park!).

Or you could put an add in the local newspaper..... or both. Good luck =)
