She is an introvert but she likes people. The little neighbor girls who used to play with her don't come around any more. I tried to get her counseling but she went twice and never went back. She'll be a sophomore this year and I think she might start to realize why the girls she does call always have an excuse of why they cannot get together sometimes for the next few months. Any ideas?

Coming from a thirteen year old, you can do two things. Give it some time, or maybe think about this behavior. Depressed children don't like to talk about their feelings because it hurts them. She may be depressed from the sounds of it. I have read an article saying children who loose friends often get very depressed.

Well first off kids are mean so don't force it. She may need to try some where else meeting friends, church or the y, maybe get in a gym or try a sport.
