No. Her digestive system is not ready for that yet. It will cause a lot of gas, and pain. She should be eating foods like pureed avacados, sweet potatoes, and bananas right now. Don't rush it. There is no point. 2nd foods are to thick for that age, those are for more experienced eaters. She is only 5 months old, she should have watered down puree right now.

You can give her stage 2 foods, but I think it is still too early for things that are more difficult to digest and things that cause gas. LIke broccoli and pintos and citrus fruits and meat, I think she is still too young for that stuff.

I would wait. Technically, they shouldn't be on solids at all until 6 months old anyway. So where you started her early, I would stick with things that aren't acidic and aren't likely to give her gas. Things like sweet potatoes, peas, squash, bananas, pears and avocados are all good foods for this age.

Wholesomebabyfood.com has some really good information about what foods are appropriate at what ages. I've pasted the "Stage 1" page here for you, which is what your daughter would be in: http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/s...

How old is your baby now? It all depends on what you think they can handle with something. Just do one new food at a time because sometimes things like broc can cause wind and bellyaches
