My son is a little over two =) and I just joined this website. But a 6 month old is extremely young and needs some stimuli, at least my son did. Try a nightlight, tranquil music and just patience. He will cry but if he isn't wet, hungry, etc.....let it be. He can cry for about 5-10 min, whatever you're comfortable with, then you can check on him. Also try a stuffed animal and state "you want to sleep with your baby"? He'll become familiar with his "friend" and won't feel alone. God luck and God Bless.
