I think my son has RingWorm- large red circles with white centres on his legs. We see the doctor soon... what can I do for him?

We thought that something had bit my daughter or she had ringworm. No one in my family had ever heard of nummular eczema before and a lot in my family have had eczema or have dealt with others that have had it before including myself with my oldest.

Since it isn't the most common form of eczema I didn't believe the doctor and took her to a dermatologist and they told me to do like the doctor said. Hers was really bad over the winter but really hasn't flared up in months. Every now and then she gets a little itchy and will has for her cream (hydrocortisone 1%) and is fine for a while.

IIt started as just small dry flakey patches and over about a week they grew to toonie-sized red rings. i spoke with the dr today, since i have an appt Tuesday she asked me to use canestan antifungal lotion on him and Tuesday we will see what's going on. did your daughters start the same way?

How long has he had it and what have your tried. Has be been exposed to any illnesses or anything new like foods, soaps, changes in climate? There is also a form of eczema that looks like ringworm - nummular eczema. My daughter has it and was given a medicated steroidal creme for the patches that she scratched and infected and we use hydrocortisone on the other patches when they pop up and start itching.
