If you are healthy and stable... there's nothing wrong w/ having a baby at 33. I was 31 when my youngest was born. I know happy and healthy moms that didn't have a baby til they were 40+...

No way! I was 32 with my first and 34 with my second! I think that mature parents raise healthy and happy kids who have a secure financial base. Ignore those in-laws!!

I had my 3rd when I was in my late 30s and my 4th when I was in my early 40s. They did a lot of testing and a lot of monitoring, but both were born healthy and strong. With today's technological advances in healthcare, so many more women are having children later in life. Talk to your obstetrician. She could tell you how to best prepare for getting pregnant if you are worried. Good luck!

I had my baby at 37. You aren't considered in the danger zone by the hospital until after 35 and even then they will just monitor you a little closer. I didn't feel ready until now. Everyone is different.

The average age of women having their 1st baby at the moment is 31. With life expectancy much higher now most people these days spend their 20s either partying travelling or developing their career. By the time they are in their 30s they have got this out of their system and are more mature and financially ready to support a child. I would consider 33 a perfect age. There will be a generation gap no matter what age you have a child. What's important is how you care for and delelop your relationship with your child.

Not at all, I just turned 34 in April and had baby number two in March. My mom had her third at 35. Anytime in your 30's is a good time to have a kid, because you are more mature than if you had a kid at say, 25. Believe me, my baby sister never complains about the age gap between her and my mom that I have ever heard. Our parents just lived in a generation when you had your first kid in your early twenties (like my mom with me and my middle sister), but that is no longer the norm. You will make a great mom, because you want to be one and that is the only time to have a kid!

Omg I can't believe they'd say such a thing to you. Don't listen to them. My sister had her second baby at 36, when her older son was already 13 years old. My sister-in-law had her fourth baby at 40, when her oldest was 21. They were perfectly healthy pregnancies and babies too.

Most people today don't start having children until they are around 30 to 35 yrs old. To many you are still young. I have many friends that did not start until they were in their 40's. Times have changed. You now have many people going to college after high school and then developing their careers before starting a family. Then you also have lots more blended families that have kids with their new spouse. ....which tends to be when they are in their 30 ' s and 40's.

Why would it be too old to have a baby? I had my youngest when I was 36. I know plenty of people who had babies over the age of 33. A generation gap is only an issue if you make it one.
